Ein Ausstellungsprojekt im öffentlichen Raum des MFA-Studiengangs “Kunst im öffentlichen Raum und neue künstlerische Strategien/Public Art and New Artistic Strategies”, Fakultät Kunst und Gestaltung der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Kunsthaus Dresden, Städtische Galerie für Gegenwartskunst und der offenen Werkstatt #Rosenwerk. Dresden ist ein Ort, an dem die Herausforderung, mit der aktuellen Situation der Flucht und Migration und den damit in der Bevölkerung entstehenden Ressentiments aktiv umzugehen, eine besondere Dringlichkeit entwickelt hat. Das Projekt TOMORROW WE WILL EXPLAIN untersucht den Stadtraum Dresdens im Kontext der politischen Situation und nutzt einen Moment, der Umbrüche und Fragen zulässt.
Im Juni 2016 besuchen 11 internationale Studierende des MFA-Studiengangs »Kunst im öffentlichen Raum und neue künstlerische Strategien/Public Art and New Artistic Strategies«derBauhaus-Universität Weimar Dresden. Für einen Zeitraum von zwei Wochen wird die Stadt Produktionstätte für künstlerische Arbeiten im öffentlichen Raum. Die Wünsche, Ängste und Vorstellungen der in Dresden lebenden Menschen über die Zukunft der Stadt, bezüglich Flucht und Ankommen, werden Teil des künstlerischen Prozesses.
TOMORROW WE WILL EXPLAIN ist Auftaktveranstaltung und künstlerischer Prolog von “Am Fluss / At the River”, ein Projekt des Kunsthaus Dresden, das in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Societaetstheater Dresden mit künstlerischen Interventionen und Veranstaltungen in öffentlichen Räumen entlang der Elbe Denkprozesse anstößt, Begegnungsmomente einleitet und für ein offenes, sich im Fluss befindliches Kulturverständnis wirbt.

In Dresden, there is a sense of urgency to confront the challenge presented by the current situation of flight and migration and the subsequent resentment that has developed in the local population. The project TOMORROW WE WILL EXPLAIN examines the cityscape of Dresden in the context of the political situation and uses this moment of upheavel to pose urgent questions.
11 international students from the MFA-programme »Kunst im öffentlichen Raum und neue künstlerische Strategien/Public Art and New Artistic Strategies« at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar will visit Dresden for a period of two weeks. During that time, the city will act as a platform for artistic production in public space. The local population’s hope’s, anxieties, and ideas for Dresden’s future in relation to flight and arrival will become part of the artistic process.
TOMORROW WE WILL EXPLAIN is the commencement and artistic prologue of “Am Fluss/At the River”, a project by Kunsthaus Dresden in collaboration with Societaetstheater Dresden. The aim is to provide input in the form of artistic interventions and events along the river Elbe that might initiate thought processes and moments of encounter and promote open and fluid concepts of cultural identity.
